Getting StartedYou've looked over Leland's portfolio, and perhaps you liked what you saw. You've contacted him, and you've talk a bit via phone or email. You've decided he may be a good match for your project, and you're thinking of hiring Leland. Here are the first steps to get started. (If you've read through "Working in 4-D", then you may refer to most of this page as the first 'D': Define.) Step 1Fill out the "Request for Proposal - Preparation Questionnaire". It'll take anywhere between 20-minutes to an hour, depending on how detailed you get in your answers. (alternately, here is a PDF version of the questionnaire that you can save to your hard drive, fill out at your leisure, and then email to Leland). Step 2Leland will take the information you provide in the Questionnaire, along with whatever he's learned from our conversations, and will prepare a Project Proposal. It, in conjunction with my Standard Terms & Conditions, becomes the contract for the project. Step 3Once we agree to the proposal details, you pay the deposit (as outlined in the Project Proposal; usually ½ of the Estimate) to commence work. Step 4Leland starts designing and developing! |
